For more than two decades, Nora Campos has been a driving force in California politics and community development. As a California Assembly Member, she advanced incentives that safeguarded thousands of jobs, fought for equal pay for women, and secured resources for small businesses across the state.
Her nearly decade-long tenure on the San Jose City Council (2001–2010) left a lasting mark on the city. Nora transformed the Story and King Road shopping area into a thriving economic hub that increased the local tax base by 105%. She also championed housing solutions, adding more than 10,000 new units citywide—including 2,500 within her district—ensuring San Jose’s workforce could live and thrive in their own community.
With deep experience bridging economic growth, workforce housing, and community empowerment, Nora now brings her leadership and vision to MySyde’s Advisory Board. With more than 30 years of service in government and community leadership, Xavier Campos has played a central role in shaping San Jose’s skyline, infrastructure, and neighborhoods. Appointed to the City’s Planning Commission in 2002 and later elected to represent San Jose’s 5th District on the City Council in 2010, he championed development that delivered thousands of new housing units and tens of thousands of jobs to local residents.
Xavier’s leadership extended beyond housing and jobs—he secured funding for new parks and sports fields, expanded youth safety and gang prevention services, and invested in community amenities that strengthened neighborhoods. As a board member of the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority, he was a pivotal vote in bringing transformative projects to the region, including BART to San Jose, Bus Rapid Transit, and the Light Rail Extension to Eastridge, as well as infrastructure supporting Levi’s Stadium.
Today, Xavier brings his deep knowledge of land use, infrastructure, and community development to MySyde’s Advisory Board, helping guide its mission of connecting neighborhoods with local businesses, resources, and events.
